Boris Johnson. The Great Disappointment.

Today Boris Johnson has announced he is not taking part into run for Tory leadership. What a disappointment. On one hand by this he said to all who have claimed he supports the Leave only to get into office. On the other hand maybe he sees further, he plans further… Or maybe he has been betrayed by his most close allies and felt abandoned and gave up… Or maybe there are so many other reasons, like him talking to actively about the social justice etc., that has angered some key sponsors and the whole party had turned their backs on him??? Who are we to know…

I like Boris Johnson and I believe he is just the man to lead the country at this point of the history. Of course there are some things I disagree with him too like about the need for the so-called Free Trade under the existing conditions with the EU being preserved. I am sure Britain can be much better off without “this Free Trade” which, in its essence, is just the opposite for it disables the Principle of the Free Market completely. I touched this topic in another of my posts.

What’s more, I am sworn social-democrat which makes me Labour supporter. Still, I can see no other person in the political life of the UK that can match Boris Johnson at this point. In my mind he is the best of both worlds, the world of business and social justice. In his speeches we clearly see this social responsibility for all and everyone in the country. He is just the leader the country needs. But maybe this is also just the reason why he was made to give up???…

And it is just the thing that made me think. He is much more Labour than any Labour politician in the Labour pantheon right now… So what if Boris is planning to move to Labour party and run for the Labour leadership instead???

Surely he can win everything if at the helm of the Labour party… And he definitely can beat Gove or May or even both of them at the elections…

So why many people in his own Conservative party are supporting this view that Boris Johnson does not have the quality needed for the leader of the government? Personally I utterly disagree and dismiss that. A man with experience of leading one of the worlds greatest cities, where he has won two terms, surely has got enormous and real-time experience needed for leading the whole country. Basically, he should be able to lead anything by now.

I have heard some very strange slogans before the race for the new leader started. And those clichés have been repeated by some really experienced politicians and journalists alike. One of those dodgy statements said something like this – we cannot imagine Boris Johnson dealing with Vladimir Putin. Theresa May would give Putin a real stare and Boris Johnson would not be capable to do that…

People, this is nuts. World politics are not decided by stares. Even more, I would like to rise his hand of that person who is narrow-minded enough to believe that Putin will be affected by anybody’s stare… No one surely is so poor in his judgement… And no one can accuse Boris of being indecisive and/or weak in front of strong personalities. After all he was a leading Leave Campaigner who opposed so many strong personalities… and enormous pressure from such big part of society and media. As we know, the Leave Campaigners were judged more harshly than Remainers in media.

So all in all it is a very sad day for the democracy of the UK that Boris Johnson ruled himself out. Or was made to do so. A true disappointment.

What about the rest of the candidates? No idea. Michael Gove is very intelligent and strong personality also, and he has proved himself as such. Still, he does not have the charisma Boris Johnson has. And after all, Boris Johnson is much more about social justice and understands those things better than the minister of Justice… And he betrayed Boris Johnson. Bad start for a leader hopeful. Michael Gove already without this move had a particular quality of his personality that leaves him being disliked by so many. There is some kind of arrogance and ignorance in him always present. He can not win elections.

Theresa May? She is strong personality too. Still, I see nothing new or extraordinary and any thinking outside the box. She just stands for the mainstream political views in a very strong way. The problem is, there will be nothing coming from her apart from the Status Quo.  And that is definitely not enough.

Unfortunately, Michael Gove could be unable to beat Theresa May and for this reason it will be as if David Cameron has stayed. But neither of two front-runners of this race could possibly match David Cameron. One may not like him, or some of his views, like I do, but we have to admit that he had this ability to win by correctly playing out his cards and speeches…

There was only one man who possibly could deliver the same or even better prospects for the Conservative party, but it seems the party has betrayed him – Boris Johnson…

What are the true real reasons for Boris Johnson to rule himself out, is a mystery to me. I even believed that Michel Gove’s announcement to run is rather consequences of some kind of a secret plan of Boris Johnson rather than vice versa, that Johnson made his decision because of Gove’s. But after Gove’s rhetoric about Boris Johnson I had to drop this view. Boris must have been betrayed.

We may never find out the truth behind all these games.

What I would like to see, as I already previously have said, is, that Boris Johnson will run for the Labour leadership instead and leave the conservative party in opposition for next 20 or so years…

That’s all for now, folks!

Have a nice day!
